So far, my alien has been modelled completely, we were told to find our own way of modelling the alien using simple tools like Extrude and Insert Edge Loop Tool.
I had to restart my model many times from different points because I tackled many different ways, such as modelling body parts separately such as the legs. This worked until I realised that when it comes to binding the shapes together, it may cause some small problems.
My classmate gave me a tutorial link to follow from Youtube which helped a lot because it made certain problems that kept arising much easier to solve.
I started the modelling from the belly and extruded the polygons out making the legs and head. This proved to much easier and once I had done the whole body, I deleted the left side and duplicated it from the right so it was symmetrical, I did this using the Duplicate Special tool.

I had trouble modelling the head because it was hard to get the shape right from the side and front angles and then giving it a round shape.
Once I made dents where the nose would be and the cheeks it did make it easier and besides putting a lot of edge loops around the jaw, I think the shape of the mouth works well.
The reason for having so many edge loops was because I could not get the shape of the mouth right and was trying to get the vertices in the right position.
The eyeball sockets were easy to make because they are simple polygon sphere rotated at a 90 degrees angle , but what made it difficult was shaping the eyelid around the eye socket and bring certain edges in and out. I figured it out in the end but it was hard at first.

The next step is to UV map and Rig the alien.
