Matilda Inspiration

My course friend, Sophie suggested the scene where Matilda bakes pancakes when left alone at home. I thought that this is similar to the scene where the roommate bakes a cake for her friend to cheer her up.

The scene is part of the main story and the baking scene in Matilda works well because of the happy mood conveyed.
The lighting is natural and the various shot angles make it entertaining such as the shot where the pancakes are thrown onto the plate from an aerial view.
I want to make someone baking as interesting as possible with interesting shots to show the process clearly.

We added a close up shot of the egg being cracked, which does not seem interesting but it has added that extra dynamic to the video

In this shot, to engage the viewer, I used the track dolly as Meg pours the ingredients into the bowl. I previously wanted Meg placed at the kitchen counter but since it was a tracking shot going in a semi-circle direction, I needed to place her at the dining table. I think it still works for the shot.

The shot of the cake placed between April and Meg works well and the camera zooms out to show both eating which I think works well.
