The lighting in this scene is what I think enhances it because the mist helps add depth to the set, the director could have just used silhouettes and shadows to create the outlines of multiple mushrooms. I could think about this technique if I needed to give the illusions of there being multiple props.
This movie was screening on tv, I decided to watch it and realised that the scenes had amazing scenery.
Certain tasks that the characters had to do to get out the cave they fell into, were video game-like tasks. I have posted some pictures from scenes of the movie to give examples. If you have watched it you can see that certain scenes had the 'AWE' feeling, so if I was going down the route of AWE I would be looking at this as a great reference.
Either way, the movie still gave me ideas of how to make my game level more realistic in the sense of adding sounds and certain props to emphasise the emotion of FEAR that I want to evoke.
The first image is a good exampe of AWE because the light from the top helps the viewer know that the cave's height is very tall and also helps show the size of the characters compared to the scene which is a good effect.
Something for me to think about.
